Hope in the Midst of Economic Disaster

In the news these days, we are reading more and more of businesses that are either having layoffs, going bankrupt and/or closing down completely.

There are many factors that come into play here, but what comes to my mind is the following scripture from 1 Timothy 6:10 in which Paul writes, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows".

Money is not the problem but the LOVE of money.

Much of the industrialized world is gluttonous for material things and power.

The Lord Jesus Christ tells us in Matthew 6:24, "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

The way things are going, it looks to get worse before it gets better. Pretty sad but still, there is hope. Each day, every day, we make choices and we must live with the result of those choices: good or bad. Yes, the economy is getting worse BUT if we obey Proverbs 3 and put our trust in the LORD with all our heart, lean not to our own understanding and in all our ways acknowledge him, HE PROMISES to direct our paths.

When we obey God and follow His path, He turns problems into opportunities.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

TODAY, I hope you make the best choice and put your trust in the LORD Jesus Christ. Then read the Bible and obey it.
