THE DAY OF CHRIST IS AT HAND
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ Titus 2:13
In the book of Acts, after Jesus was crucified and resurrected, he told his disciples not to leave Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the Father which he had told them about: "For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence."

They asked him, "Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?" to which he said, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. "

And And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

As Christians, we look forward to the return of the LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and our High Priest. He appeared the first time to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." Hebrews 9:27,28
